Beginning To Cook

Before starting school I was working at a Burger and Brew place called Chief’s. There I got some basic cooking experience with burgers, a variety of fries, wings, home made Mac n’ Cheese, lots of different dinner platters, briskets and prime ribs, etc. These things aren’t overly fancy and some may not even consider it cooking. Working there is what spiked my interest in learning to cook different things and broadening my taste in foods. At home my mom was always the one to cook and she pretty much cooks mostly the same things a lot or we do a fend for yourself/quick easy meals. Some of the things she cooks I still like to make because of course it’s like home and that is the taste my palate acquired over the years. Though I have also learned to cook new things and enjoy making things with my own little twists on them. I like to watch Gordon Ramsay videos on YouTube for inspiration and help learning to cook things maybe I want to cook or need to know how to cook. I think that learning to cook for yourself is important, because eventually (most) people move out of their parents/guardians homes and live on their own. Cooking is an important skill to have, and even more than that it is taking care of your nutrition which in turn cares for your overall health.
